Putin wants ideas on new requirements to foreign IT firms by Aug 1
MOSCOW, Feb 1 (PRIME) -- Russian President Vladimir Putin has ordered the Kremlin and the government to present proposals on additional requirements to foreign IT companies working in the local segment of the Internet, the Runet, by August 1, according to the decrees released on Monday on the Kremlin’s website.
“The administration of the president of the Russian Federation together with the government of the Russian Federation are to prepare and present proposals of additional requirements to foreign technological companies working in the Russian segment of information and telecommunications network Internet, including opening of representative offices of these companies on the territory of the Russian Federation,” the documents read.
The presidential administration’s Chief of Staff Anton Vaino and Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin are in charge of the decrees.
